With a high school approach

Abstract

This study aims to present some basic concepts and problems about functional equations, as well as the contents that are directly linked to this theme such as equations and functions, in this way, we can observe that this subject can be explored in high school. This subject of functional equations ends up being an application of the concepts of equations and functions, so we have the preliminary concepts section in this study. Historically, this content presents several mathematicians who had a great participation in the construction of this concept. To show the interdisciplinarity that functional equations can provide, some examples were solved in order to acquire prior knowledge about the resolution of the problems, later we present an approach of the functional equations through inverse functions.
